The following show the amount of furniture and various items that we have saved from landfill over the previous four years. These items have been saved through either reusing the items, or recycling them. The tables below show the amounts collected, reused or recycled and the amount that has gone to landfill. They cover the years from 2006 onwards since this data has only been collected from the beginning of 2006. Items collected in 2009
This represents a total of 51.5% being recycled or reused and a total of 48.5% going to landfill in the year 2009. There was also a decrease of 48,550kg collected on the previous year which is approximately 24%. This may be due to the continuing issue with the fire in the warehouse which has hampered our operations all year. Items collected in 2008
This represents a total of 62.0% being recycled or reused and a total of 38.0% going to landfill in the year 2008. There was also a decrease of 48,864kg collected on the previous year which is approximately 19%. This may be due to the fire in the warehouse and us being unable to collect from November through to January. However the percentage going to landfill has been significantly reduced this year.
